What kind of survival search plan would this be without information about spiders, worms, and crawlers?  In the world of the Internet, these critters are your friends because they all refer to search engines - - software programs that roam the Internet, scanning for new sites to add to their databases.  Since search engines accumulate vast numbers of Internet sites, you must learn to use the right search options to retrieve relevant results.

To be a successful Internet survivor you should know the search options of at least 3 search engines.  Click on each one below for a practice session:

Google: Considered the most powerful and fastest on the web.  Most relevant results.  Ranks pages based on how often other sites have linked to it. 
Clue: Use the I'm Feeling Lucky button to retrieve the single best site on your topic.
