SIRS Advanced Search

In addition to having a drop-down menu for the Boolean operators and, or, and not, SIRS Advanced Search allows you to search multiple fields, including title, author, and graphic title.  You also can search by proximity within full text articles.

Use SIRS Advanced Search when you know the title of the article you want or when you want to search for articles by a particular author:

• Examples:
  • Sagan, Carl [Author]
  • Good Old Days [Title]

Proximity searching allows you to search for keywords that are within a certain proximity (distance) of each other within a full text article:

• Example: National within 5 words of bank
