About the Digital Lab
The Macintosh Digital Video Lab is an extension of the Upper School Library. Here, students and faculty have access to a variety of multimedia equipment, from TVs and DVD players to iPods, multimedia projectors, digital cameras, camcorders and more. On one of our eight Macintosh computers, students have the ability to edit digital media, from audio podcasts to video projects. Software in the Lab includes the iLife & iWork '09 suite, Adobe Creative Suite 4 (including Photoshop, Flash and Dreamweaver,) Final Cut Pro and more.
In the Middle School, during specific Library units, students have the option to create movie or podcast projects. Also, coordinate with the 8th grade Drama class, students learn the art of film-making by creating their own 5-minute movie.
The Instructional Multimedia Coordinator, Chip Chase, is always available to help incorporate the use of multimedia technology within the curriculum, as well as to train users on the use of the Digital Video Lab equipment.

The Upper School Library also provides a variety of services for students and faculty, including, but not limited to:
- Instructional support and training
- Media format conversion (VHS to DVD transfer)
- Digital file conversion
- Selective video editing & conversion for ease of presentation
- DIRECTV recording to DVD
- Image scanning
- Assistance with classroom audio visual setups.
- Purchase software and video materials for the Krainin Library
