Mission
The mission of the National Cathedral Lower and Upper School Libraries is to teach students to become effective managers of information, media, and technology and to prepare students to be critical readers and lifelong learners. We strive to achieve these objectives by:
- Providing access to information through a carefully selected and organized collection of 60,000 diverse learning resources, including a wide range of subjects, levels of difficulty, media formats, and delivery systems on a 24 X 7 basis.
- Teaching information and media literacy skills through a series of articulated, resource-based instructional units in grades 4-12.
- Creating and designing programs, classes, and activities based on best instructional practices that give students the opportunity to improve their critical thinking and reading skills.
- Exposing students, faculty, and staff to advances in educational technology that are relevant to their academic progress.
